The Care Workers Charity (CWC) recently shared with The Foundation the impact that our donation has made on individuals.
The CWC was founded in 2009 with the objective of supporting current and former care workers with one-off crisis grants. Since 2020 they have paid out over £6.1 million in Grants to over 12,100 care workers in need.
The donation of £15,000 raised by Audley Group in 2023, allowed the CWC to award a total of 32 grants to care workers averaging an amount of £469.00.
Circumstances that led to these individuals applying for assistance included illness or injury, bereavement, and domestic abuse. The grants covered costs such as car repairs, daily living costs and preventing eviction.
One beneficiary told the CWC: “With grateful thanks. I am so pleased to have received the £500 today. (I’m in tears to be honest) Thank you so much to your organisation for your generosity. This really will help me at this difficult time. I honestly don’t know where I could’ve turned to. This will be definitely help towards my recovery. Again, on behalf of my partner and myself, I would like to say Thank you for everything you do. Goodness you give to others, will certainly come back to you.”
